Mahmud Hasan joined INSEE Lanka as Commercial Director in 2026.Mahmud brings extensive leadership and commercial experience across the cement, telecommunications and engineering sectors, with a career spanning multinational organizations and diverse functional areas including commercial management, corporate strategy, business development, pricing, finance, sustainable development and technical operations.

Prior to joining INSEE Lanka, Mahmud served as Chief Executive Officer of Siam City Cement Bangladesh (SCCBD) from 2022 to 2026, where he led the company’s overall business and strategic direction. Before his appointment as CEO, he was Commercial Director from 2019 to 2022 and Vice President – Corporate Strategy from 2017 to 2019, giving him broad leadership experience across strategy and commercial operations within the Siam City Cement Group.

Earlier in his career, Mahmud spent five years with LafargeHolcim, where he served as General Manager – Business Development & Pricing. He also gained experience in cost control and engineering roles with Orascom Telecom Bangladesh and Telenor Bangladesh.

Combining a strong foundation in engineering with business and financial expertise, Mahmud holds a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from BUET, Bangladesh, and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has also completed an Executive Management Programme at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, India.

With experience spanning technical, strategic, financial and commercial disciplines, Mahmud brings a well-rounded leadership perspective to INSEE Lanka, with a focus on customer value, sustainable business growth, commercial excellence and long-term market development.
