INSEE Cement, Sri Lanka’s leading cement manufacturing company, is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with the Ministry of Defence for the fourth consecutive year, continuing its commitment to providing concessionary cement on-duty tri-armed forces personnel.
This renewal is part of INSEE Cement’s broader initiative, launched in 2020- to provide cement at concessionary rates to all Tri-armed forces personnel, in recognition of their dedicated service to Sri Lanka. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was renewed on 28 May 2024, signed by the Director General Welfare of the Army Major General Kumara Wanasinghe and Nandana Ekanayake, Chairman of INSEE Cement Sri Lanka. Also in attendance was the Director General Welfare of Sri Lanka Airforce, Air Vice Marshal PSN Fernando and Directorate of Welfare of Sri Lanka Navy, EAIP Edirisinghe, Representing INSEE Cement, the signing ceremony was attended by CEO Jan Kunigk, Commercial Director Safeekhan Siddeeque, Head of Channel Development and External Affairs Chandana Nanayakkara, Head of Marketing Gayani Perera and Channel Development Executive-Commercial Kolitha Harshana.
Commenting on the partnership renewal, the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, General G.D.H. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) expressed gratitude for INSEE Cement’s ongoing support. "Since the launch of this initiative, INSEE’s concessionary cement has significantly improved the lives of tri-armed forces personnel and their families, allowing them to renovate or rebuild their homes. We are incredibly grateful for this. The continuation of this partnership for the fourth year is a testament to INSEE Cement's unwavering commitment to the welfare of our war heroes, and we believe it will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of our veterans' families."
