INSEE PRIZE 2022 CHAMPION OFFICIALLY REVEALED

On November 23rd, 2022, the final round of the INSEE Prize 2022 was officially held with the participation of the Board of Jury who are leading experts in the field of Construction and Environment. After the final presentation of the Top 5 best projects, the contest had found the INSEE Prize 2022 Champion.

This year's final round was intense as the groups presented and answered questions in front of the Board of Jurt. It is known that this year's INSEE Prize Jury are leading experts in the field of Construction and Environment from Vietnam Association of Construction Contractors, Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, GreenViet Consulting Company and INSEE Vietnam – a pioneer in Vietnam in developing sustainable construction solutions. After the evaluation and discussion as well as the Q&A session, the groups have excellently completed the competition before the Board of Jury which is also an opportunity for the students to exchange knowledge with experts in the field of Environment and Sustainable Construction. The winner of the contest belonged to a group of students from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City with the project "Boost Bus - Beep Beep Beep". The winning group will receive a total prize of 230 million VND, of which, 30 million VND in cash for individuals in the team and 200 million VND for project implementation. The project “Bio-synthetic bacteria-based materials for plastic replacement” from a group of students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and the project "Public Playground of Van Quan Urban Area" from a group of students of Hanoi Architectural University won the Environment and Sustainable Construction awards, respectively, receiving 10 million VND for each topic. The consolation prize went to the project "Solutions to build a kindergarten (Soc Ghe - Kien Giang)" from a group of students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education and the project "Bon Bu Kol Book Station" from a group of students of the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City and Van Lang University with each prize received 5 million VND.

In the award ceremony, Mr. Eamon John Ginley - General Director of INSEE Vietnam had a few words to share: “The INSEE Prize 2022 result is just the first step in the journey of realizing the ideas of the students and contribute to the society. We will accompany with the Winner team after the award to work on the project together. Recently, we also held the Handover Ceremony of Mat Ngot Project - Library for children in the mountainous areas at Phuoc Tan A Primary School, Bac Ai district, Ninh Thuan province, the 9th Champion project of the INSEE Prize. The construction is the first library to receive the Lotus green building certification by the Vietnam Green Building Council. Next year will mark the 15th anniversary of the INSEE Prize, and we look forward to continuing to make this year's Champion project a reality. I hope that INSEE will continue to receive support from our key partners so that we can continue to create a better and more live-worthy life.” After more than 7 months of organization, INSEE Prize 2022 has received more than 250 creative ideas from students across the country. This year's topics are very diverse, from solutions to save water - energy - ecological landscapes, to better infrastructure conditions for the community. INSEE Prize is an annual competition organized by INSEE Vietnam with the desire to bring a scientific playground for the young generation of engineers and architects, encouraging and honoring their initiatives towards the Sustainable Environment and Construction. The competition is also an opportunity for students in the field of Construction and Architecture to apply their knowledge and theory into practice as well as gain experience for their future career. Above all, the Champion project will have the opportunity to cooperate with INSEE Vietnam and partner enterprises to realize the group's dream project. Over the course of 14 years of organization, the INSEE Prize has raised more than VND 3 billion for 9 projects that have been implemented, bringing practical benefits to more than 5,000 beneficiaries across the country.
