INSEE CLEARED INVASIVE PLANTS - ACTING FOR BIODIVERSITY

2025-04-22

On March 26, 2025, INSEE Vietnam organized a volunteer activity to remove invasive plant species, including Mimosa pigra and Pontederia crassipes, along the canal of the Phu My Species and Habitat Conservation Area in Kien Luong District, Kien Giang Province. These non-native plants grow rapidly, competing for nutrients and sunlight, thereby reducing local biodiversity and severely affecting water quality and the habitats of native species.

This activity is part of INSEE’s concrete action plan to achieve a “net positive impact on biodiversity” in Kien Luong – the location of our main production site. Beyond helping to restore the local ecosystem, the initiative also aims to spread a strong message of environmental responsibility to the surrounding community.

Biodiversity conservation is a key pillar in INSEE Vietnam’s sustainable development strategy. We believe that a responsible business must not only operate efficiently but also play an active role in preserving the ecosystems where it operates.

In line with this commitment, INSEE has set a goal to plant over 11,000 native trees in 2025 across three key areas: the Phu My Species and Habitat Conservation Area, the Hon Chong Nature Reserve, and within the Hon Chong plant campus.

INSEE remains committed to pioneering biodiversity initiatives and environmental actions, creating lasting positive impacts for the communities where we operate.
