To realize our commitment to delivering a net positive impact (NPI) on biodiversity conservation by 2030, on August 1, 2025, INSEE Vietnam handed over and initiated the planting of 10,000 indigenous Melaleuca trees at the Phu My Species and Habitat Conservation Area in Giang Thanh Commune, An Giang Province. This effort contributes to reforesting the embankment area—one of the vital habitats within the local ecosystem.

This is one of many concrete actions under INSEE Vietnam’s Biodiversity Conservation Plan, which aims to achieve a net positive impact on biodiversity by 2030. Central to this strategy is the planting of 110,000 native trees across the company’s factory area and two biodiversity offset sites, to restore and enhance natural ecosystems.
The sponsorship of 10,000 Melaleuca trees this year marks the next phase of the plan, following the planting and handover of more than 37,000 native trees in the same area during 2023–2024, raising the total number of trees planted to 47,000. These species were carefully selected to restore natural habitats, taking into account local soil, climate, and biodiversity conditions, ensuring sustainable growth and creating long-term ecological value.

“At INSEE, biodiversity conservation is a goal we have set with carefully planned actions, aiming to achieve a Net Positive Impact (NPI) in Kien Luong District by 2030. Specifically, INSEE is planting 110,000 native trees across Hon Chong Nature Reserve, the Phu My Species and Habitat Conservation Area, and the Hon Chong factory area, while also restoring mangrove ecosystems. In parallel, we are removing invasive plant species such as Mimosa pigra, Mimosa pudica, and water hyacinth from the two biodiversity offset sites to restore ecological balance. INSEE also supports local livelihoods, promoting economic development alongside raising awareness and community participation in conservation efforts. In addition, we are focusing on providing professional training for conservation area managers to strengthen sustainable management capacity. The journey towards achieving our NPI goal will be regularly updated through communication channels and will undergo a comprehensive third-party review in 2027 to ensure the targets stay on track towards 2030.” – shared Mr. Dao Nguyen Khanh, Head of Sustainable Development & Communications at INSEE Vietnam.
Through practical and focused actions, INSEE Vietnam continues to affirm its pioneering role in integrating economic development with environmental protection, aiming for a future where people and nature thrive together sustainably. The sponsorship and planting of 10,000 Melaleuca trees at the Phu My Species and Habitat Conservation Area in 2025 is not only another milestone in the biodiversity conservation journey but also a clear demonstration of INSEE’s long-term commitment to creating a net positive impact for the environment and local communities.
