INSEE Ecocycle Lanka (Private) Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Siam City Cement (Lanka) Limited, a member of the INSEE Group, which is a leading cement manufacturer in Southeast Asia.INSEE Ecocycle is the industrial waste management arm of the Group.
Founded in 1969 in Thailand,the INSEE Group has significant expertise in environmental services that includes waste management. The Group has a strong regional footprint in South East Asia with operations in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
Launched in 2003, INSEE Ecocycle (known as Holcim – Geocycle at the time) was the first to introduce the concept of co-processing to Sri Lanka. The inaugural co-processing 297 metric tons of tyre waste. While initially established as an alternative energy supply unit for the INSEE Cement kilns in Puttalam ,INSEE Ecocycle has now become the premier waste management solutions provider for many industries in Sri Lanka.Established as the alternative energy supply unit for the INSEE’s Puttalam cement kiln, Ecocycle has now become the premier waste management solutions provider for many industries in Sri Lanka.
The rapid rise in the demand of sustainable waste management has led to the vigorous expansion of INSEE Ecocycle. Utilizing strategic investments of more than LKR 3 billion, INSEE Ecocycle has exceeded its annual co-processing capacity by 100,000 metric tons and INSEE Ecocycle has set itself an ambitious target of 1,000,000 metric tons of total co-processed volume.
As of 2023 , INSEE Ecocycle supports more than 1000 enterprises in Sri Lanka for industrial waste management by introducing tailor made waste management solutions to suit its corporate customer’s sustainability needs.
