INSEE Ecocycle Company Limited, a subsidiary of Siam City Cement Public Company Limited which provides total and sustainable industrial waste solutions, teams up with the Customs Department in destroying counterfeit goods and other confiscated items with an environmentally-friendly and non-polluting process that allows sustainable resource recycling at the Customs Department’s office, Klong Toey, Bangkok on Wednesday 16 January. The collaboration is driven by the realization of environmental impacts and pollution problems from combustion and dust diffusion.

Pokkrong Mejinda, Head of Commercial, INSEE Ecocycle Company Limited, said: “INSEE Ecocycle is a specialist in total waste disposal services that turns waste from a production cycle to energy for another production cycle, for sustainable recycling of resources. We are ready to be a partner of government and private organizations, to build confidence in safe environmental management solutions.  This time, we offer a free service to the Customs Department in disposing the counterfeit goods which include clothes, blankets, dolls, shoes and bags with combined weight of 300 tons or 300,000 kg.

“Under the process to turn counterfeit goods to renewably energy, INSEE Ecocycle’s GPS-equipped trucks bring the goods to AFR Platform in Saraburi province. The goods are segregated, shred and smashed, before the incineration with primary fuels in cement kilns. The goods will be incinerated at temperature above 1,800 degree Celsius in a closed system, thus emitting no carcinogenic substances like dioxin or dust. It is an efficient and sustainable method to dispose industrial waste and constitute least impacts on community health and the environment. It also promises zero waste to landfill. The entire process is monitored by the closed circuit system. RFID is deployed to track all trucks in the premise and the security unit for maximum control. It is specified that the goods must be destroyed within 15 days, or by the end of January.”
